From Rockwood Rising to Downtown Rockwood : A Timeline

Downtown Rockwood, formerly known as Rockwood Rising, is a complete four-building community development supporting the neighborhood. A ceremony in October 2024 celebrated the AVIVA apartments opening and the final piece of the Downtown Rockwood redevelopment project. The City’s Gresham Redevelopment Commission purchased the shuttered Rockwood Fred Meyer site in 2005 with urban renewal funds. The goal? Revitalize the area, keep local residents in their homes, and support neighbors in building a better life for themselves and their families.
